It goes to show that peace is achievable, peace is possible, none of you here, I can say with a great sense of certainty is causing, creating and contributing to crime and violence in your parish. It is but a few, maybe less than one per cent of the population who are the cause of criminality and violence,” Holness said. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XHOmBV4js_E Millions in the dark after Cuba suffers yet another massive power outage Ministry of Energy and Mines ‘working on the recovery process’ Cuba suffered a massive power outage Friday night affecting Havana and the country’s provinces that left millions in the dark. Cuba’s Ministry of Energy and Mines said at around 8:15 p.m. local time a power outage at the Diezmero substation on the outskirts of Havana had caused “a significant loss of generation in western Cuba and, with it, the failure of the National Electric System.” The ministry said on its account on X that it is “working on the recovery process.” The streets of Havana were dark and empty, with light coming only from the windows of hotels that had generators. People in provinces as far away as Guantanamo, Artemisa, Santiago de Cuba, and Santa Clara reported experiencing blackouts with just flickers of light. Haiti

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XHOmBV4js_E PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti (AP) — A powerful gang coalition has launched new attacks on Haiti’s capital, driving dozens of families from homes as police vowed Wednesday to hold the gunmen back. Authorities evacuated students at a Catholic school in western Port-au-Prince as heavy gunfire continued in the area near the renowned Oloffson Hotel, which once attracted international celebrities in the 1970s and ‘80s. Meanwhile, cries for help emerged on social media for a group of priests trapped inside a church in the Carrefour-Feuilles neighborhood, which endured much of the attack by the Viv Ansanm gang coalition that began late Tuesday. “They’re trying to take more areas, but police are there, making sure that doesn’t happen,” Lionel Lazarre, deputy spokesman for Haiti’s National Police, told a press conference. He said police have new plans to fight gangs that already control 85% of Haiti’s capital, but declined to provide details, citing safety reasons.
